Rolling Stone utser årtiondets album och låtar

När så detta årtionde går mot sitt slut så sätts det samman åtskilliga topplistor över årtiondets bästa album och låtar. För ett tag sedan presenterade den respekterade tidningen NME sina listor och nu är det även dags för amerikanska Rolling Stone Magazine. Det bästa albumet var enligt NME ”Is This It” av The Strokes men enligt Rolling Stone är det ”Kid A” med Radiohead som gäller. The Strokes placerade sig dock på en andraplats.

När det gäller årtiondets låtar så toppades NME:s lista av Beyoncés ”Crazy In Love” vilken på Rolling Stones lista ligger trea. Rolling Stone har istället valt ”Crazy” med Gnarls Barkley som etta.

Hos NME så var The Knife och The Hives de enda svenska inslagen och så är det även hos Rolling Stone. The Hives placerar sig på plats 91 på albumlistan med ”Veni Vidi Vicious” och The Knife på plats 87 på låtlistan med ”Heartbeats”.

Listorna är framröstade av ett drygt 100-tal representanter från musikbranschen. Bland dessa finns Pelle Almqvist från The Hives, Jeff Ament från Pearl Jam, Guy Berryman från Coldplay, ett flertal redaktörer på Rolling Stone, medlemmarna i Kings of Leon, Bill Flanagan från MTV och Kirk Hammett från Metallica för att nämna några. Samtliga utvalda fick skicka in sina 25 favoriter i bägge kategorierna.
